Sound Engineering

One of the things I enjoy most is Live Sound Engineering. Pictured below is the sound booth at my local church.

Computers

Computers are such interesting devices. It is amazing to see the progression of technology over the years. Here is a photo of a Symbolics 3670 that I found hiding somewhere, unloved. The white box on the bottom is the hard disk. Yikes.

Now days, much of my work is focused on installing and maintaining home and business networks.

Snowmobiles

My family and I own a fleet of Kawasaki snowmobiles. These older sleds have a real charm to them. They are also very simple to work on.

Snowmobiling on the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan. If you want to go snowmobiling, this is a great place.

I am also a member of the Electric Snowmobile Team at Clarkson University. This team designs and builds an electric snowmobile and then uses that snowmobile to compete in competitions.

Model Airplanes

Although I have not spent a lot of time flying RC airplanes lately, I still enjoy building and flying them.

Photography

I just love to take pictures.  I don’t have a fancy camera or anything like that, but I like to take pictures.

Cooking

Yeah, I like to cook. Or maybe I just like to eat and that causes me to cook. Either way, the art and science of making a dish great appeals to me.

Electronics

I enjoy all sorts of electronics, not just computers and live sound engineering.  I also enjoy working with my FPGA development board on small projects and fixing the watches and smoke alarms of my relatives.
